Through financing postdoctoral positions, the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague supports talented graduates of doctoral study programs. The aim of the postdoctoral research positions is to increase the qualifications of holders of doctoral degrees.
The job description of a post-doctoral position is independent research within a specific research plan, participation in supervising dissertations in the field and teaching within a specialization. The scope of teaching does not exceed 10-20% of the work time of the researcher.
Applicants may apply for this position within five years after graduation of their doctoral studies. Doctoral studies can be completed in the Czech Republic or abroad. The five-year time limit may only be exceeded in special cases such as parental leave or extended sick leave. If an applicant wishes to benefit from this exemption, he or she must substantiate and document his or her request. An applicant for a postdoctoral position should not exceed the age of forty.
The selection process focuses on the following criteria:
- Academic competences and research experience
- Research plan
- General evaluation
Post-doctoral positions pertain to university faculties. The duration of postdoctoral positions is three years. The salary of a researcher is based on the teaching and research requirements, and on his or her personal work approach. The salary range is set at 20,000 CZK (800 EUR) - 60 000 CZK (2,400 EUR) per month, depending on the qualifications and experience of the researcher.
